ISLAMABAD – Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik has officially stepped down from his role as Domestic Cricket Mentor for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Malik shared that he submitted his resignation two weeks ago, adding that it was time to move on and focus on other responsibilities in his life.
“This wasn’t an easy decision, but I’ve realized that managing too many things at once would stop me from giving my best—to Pakistan cricket and to my personal life,” he wrote.
Malik also confirmed that he would continue fulfilling his contractual duties until the PCB appoints a new mentor for the next season.
The former captain expressed deep thanks to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB executive team, his old teammate Wahab Riaz, the Stallion coaching staff, and the players he mentored.
“Working with some of Pakistan’s most talented cricketers has been a truly fulfilling experience,” he added.
