In light of Youm-e-Shahadat Hazrat Ali (RA) on the 21st of Ramadan, Multan Police, under the guidance of City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, has announced a security plan to ensure safety during the events.
On this day, 12 processions will be held across the city, with 2 of them being classified as high-risk. Additionally, 15 gatherings (Majalis) will take place, including 2 major ones categorized as “A” grade for heightened security.
The police will be on high alert and deploy additional forces to maintain peace and order, particularly around sensitive areas. Special arrangements are being made for crowd control, and security will be tight during all events to prevent any untoward incidents. The police will also coordinate with volunteers and security personnel assigned to assist in managing the large crowds expected during the processions.
To ensure public safety, a detailed plan has been devised that includes increased patrols, the use of CCTV cameras, and checkpoints along the procession routes. In addition, specialized bomb disposal units will be on standby as a precautionary measure. Security personnel will also be positioned at strategic locations such as mosques, Imambargahs, and major intersections where the processions will pass.
Multan Police are urging citizens to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure the smooth and safe observance of the day. They are also advising participants to follow safety guidelines and remain vigilant during the events.
Authorities are committed to maintaining peace and ensuring that the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) is observed with respect and without any disturbances.
