Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramazan. She is accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also in the Kingdom for talks with Saudi leaders.
Maryam’s visit comes at a time when millions of Muslims from around the world are in Saudi Arabia for Umrah, seeking spiritual blessings. In addition to her religious duties, Maryam aims to play an important role in addressing both provincial leadership and humanitarian concerns.
Before leaving, Maryam met her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who prayed for her well-being and the safety of the entire delegation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also in Saudi Arabia, where he met with key Saudi officials, including Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih and Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri in Jeddah. During these discussions, he emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Saudi investments and highlighted opportunities in sectors like energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology. He invited Saudi businesses to explore these opportunities through Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
