Islamabad – Good news for Pakistanis! Petrol and diesel prices are expected to decrease from April 1, 2025, providing some relief ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. This drop comes as global oil prices decline, prompting the government to consider reducing fuel costs.
Expected Fuel Price Reduction
According to sources, petrol prices may decrease by Rs 3 to Rs 3.50 per litre, while diesel prices could see a Rs 3 per litre reduction. The federal government will make the final decision, taking into account global market trends and local economic factors.
Expected New Fuel Prices (April 1, 2025)
Petrol: Rs 252.13 – Rs 252.63 per litre
Diesel: Rs 255.64 per litre
The government has also indicated that fuel prices will be reviewed every two weeks based on international oil rates, exchange rate fluctuations, and tax policies.
Why the Price Drop?
Global oil prices have fallen, with petrol decreasing by $1.50 per barrel and diesel by $0.60 per barrel. This trend benefits Pakistan, making a fuel price reduction likely.
In the previous fuel price review, rates remained unchanged, with petrol priced at Rs 255.63 and diesel at Rs 258.64 per litre.
The final decision on the new fuel prices will be announced soon.
