Pakistan Day Celebrated with National Spirit and Enthusiasm

Nation Marks March 23 with Patriotic Zeal and Military Parade

Islamabad: The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day today (Sunday) with great enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to making Pakistan a true Islamic and welfare state, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

This day marks the historic Lahore Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, which laid the foundation for an independent Muslim state. It also commemorates the adoption of Pakistan’s first Constitution on March 23, 1956, making it the world’s first Islamic Republic.

The celebrations began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in all provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered in mosques after Fajr for the progress and prosperity of the country.

A highlight of the day is the Pakistan Day Military Parade in Islamabad, which is being held on a limited scale at Aiwan-e-Sadr due to Ramadan. President Asif Ali Zardari is the chief guest, and contingents from the Army, Navy, and Air Force are participating in the event. The Pakistan Air Force is also performing a special flypast.

Pakistan Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for independence and the ongoing commitment to national unity and progress.
