KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan saw a decrease on Tuesday, following a dip in international market rates.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of one tola of gold dropped by Rs800, settling at Rs272,600. Similarly, the rate for 10 grams fell by Rs685, reaching Rs233,711.
In the global market, gold prices also declined, with one ounce trading at $2,614 after a decrease of $6.
On Monday, local gold prices remained steady at Rs273,400 per tola.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a sharp drop on Tuesday. The KSE-100 index fell by 1,509.61 points, closing at 112,414.80. Earlier in the day, it had reached an all-time high of 115,036.49 points, but later reversed, losing over 1,500 points by the close.
