The report highlights varying rates of child labor across the province. Karachi has the lowest rate at 2.38%, while other districts such as Tharparkar (29%), Tando Muhammad Khan (20.3%), and Shikarpur (20.2%) report much higher figures.
Additional findings include:
- Hyderabad: 4.5%
- Sukkur: 8.6%
- Larkana: 7.6%
- Umerkot: 21%
- Sanghar: 25.7%
- Khairpur: 9%
Earlier this year, former Caretaker Education Minister Madad Ali Sindhi revealed that 25 million children across Pakistan are out of school. He urged parents to prioritize education and enroll their children. Sindhi also pointed out the poor conditions of schools in certain areas, noting girls in one village studying while sitting on the floor.
The increasing rate of child labor and lack of education in Sindh has raised serious concerns, with officials urging immediate action to address these issues.
