RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir honored Pakistan Army officers and soldiers for their bravery and exceptional service to the country.
The ceremony took place at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where families of the soldiers and senior military leaders gathered to witness the prestigious moment.
Awards like the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were presented to those who served with distinction. Several medals were awarded posthumously, and the families of the martyrs received them with great pride.
General Asim Munir paid a heartfelt tribute, saying:
“Our martyrs and veterans are a source of pride for the nation. Their sacrifices brought us the peace and freedom we enjoy today. Every Pakistani holds their legacy as a sacred trust.”
He also expressed deep admiration for the strength of the martyrs’ families and appreciated the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies for their continued efforts in countering terrorism and ensuring national security.
