Illegal Petrol and LPG Refilling Business Thrives in Multan

Lack of action by authorities raises safety concerns.

Due to the negligence of local authorities and the inaction of the Civil Defense Department, illegal petrol and LPG gas refilling has become widespread in several areas of the city.

Residents of Pakistan Chowk, near Chungi No. 14, have raised concerns about this dangerous activity. The area, home to five major wedding halls, is frequently crowded with people, yet illegal LPG refilling and open petrol sales continue unchecked on both sides of the chowk.

Despite the clear dangers, Civil Defense officials have failed to take action, raising fears of a potential accident. Local residents have urged Deputy Commissioner Multan, Muhammad Ali Bukhari, and Assistant Commissioner City, Abdul Sami, to take strict action against those involved in illegal LPG refilling and fuel sales to ensure public safety.
