In Tehran, four Pakistanis have been freed from a group of human traffickers. The Pakistani Embassy, in cooperation with the Iranian government, rescued the victims and arrested the smugglers during a swift operation.
The four citizens had entered Iran legally, but were later kidnapped by traffickers who tortured them and demanded large ransoms from their families. Thanks to the prompt action of both the Embassy and Iranian officials, their lives were saved.
Ambassador Muhammad Mudassir Tipu urged those planning to travel to Iran to follow legal procedures and stay in touch with the Pakistani Embassy to avoid falling into similar traps. The rescued individuals are Ghulam Mustafa Tabasum, Muhammad Suhail, Muhammad Arsalan, and Muhammad Khurram, who expressed gratitude for the life-saving efforts.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the formation of a Special Task Force to fight against human trafficking in the country. During a review meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the need for all government departments to work together to identify and arrest traffickers, especially after the tragic loss of lives in an illegal immigration boat incident.
