The romantic comedy Love Guru, released on Eid-ul-Adha, has quickly become a major hit. In its opening weekend, it earned PKR 12 crore, beating the popular film The Legend of Maula Jatt, which earned PKR 11 crore during the same period.
Love Guru has received great feedback from audiences in Pakistan and around the world. Viewers especially love the on-screen chemistry between stars Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan. The movie was filmed in London, where Mahira plays a bold, artistic woman, while Humayun plays a fun-loving man who flirts with different women. Their strong performances and the film’s entertaining story have made it a crowd favorite.
Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Vasay Chaudhry, the film was released by ARY Films. It mixes romance and comedy, with clever dialogues in Pashto and Punjabi, which have added to the fun and made the film enjoyable for a wide audience.
So far, Love Guru has earned a total of PKR 28 crore — PKR 13 crore from local cinemas and PKR 15 crore from international markets. This success is seen as a strong moment for Pakistani cinema, showing that romantic comedies can perform very well and attract large audiences.
