ISLAMABAD – The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Pakistan on Sunday for a two-day official visit focused on strengthening bilateral relations.
He was warmly received in Islamabad by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. The visit highlights the close and brotherly relationship between the two nations, and reflects their shared desire to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and regional security.
During his stay, Sheikh Abdullah is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior officials. Discussions will focus on deepening collaboration in economic and diplomatic areas, as well as people-to-people exchanges.
The visit comes shortly after the UAE announced a five-year visa facility for Pakistani citizens, a move welcomed by many. The decision followed the resolution of earlier administrative delays, according to UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi.
To ensure safety during the visit, Islamabad authorities implemented strict security measures. Police were deployed at key locations, including Karal Chowk, Express Highway, Khanna Pul, Faizabad, Club Road, and Radio Pakistan Chowk. Temporary traffic diversions were also put in place.
Sheikh Abdullah’s visit is expected to pave the way for even stronger ties between Pakistan and the UAE, focusing on shared goals of peace, prosperity, and regional cooperation.
