ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan is expected to announce new fuel prices tonight, April 15, 2025, for the second half of the month. The move comes as global oil prices fluctuate, prompting a proposed reduction in local fuel costs.
According to media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received a recommendation to lower petrol and diesel prices. The proposed price cut includes a reduction of Rs8.27 per liter for petrol and Rs6.96 per liter for high-speed diesel.
If approved, the new prices would bring petrol down to Rs246.36 per liter and high-speed diesel to Rs251.68 per liter.
The proposal also includes a Rs7.21 cut for both light diesel and kerosene oil.
The final decision rests with the prime minister, and if approved, the new prices will take effect tonight at midnight.
These changes are expected to offer much-needed relief to consumers and businesses already struggling with rising fuel expenses.
