Ahmed Noorani Alleges Fawad Chaudhry is ‘Frontman’ for Intelligence Agencies

Journalist Claims Former Minister Acts on Orders from Powerful Institutions

ISLAMABAD – US-based Pakistani journalist Ahmed Noorani has made serious allegations against former information minister Fawad Chaudhry, claiming he has long worked on behalf of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.

In a recent vlog, Noorani said Fawad Chaudhry’s political decisions were often guided by instructions from powerful quarters, and that his loyalty primarily lies with political leader Jahangir Tareen, not former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to Noorani, Fawad first connected with intelligence agencies while working with Jahangir Tareen. He claimed that Fawad joined Tareen’s political team under the direction of his “handlers” and that even today, he continues to follow their guidance.

Noorani also addressed Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest on May 10, 2025, suggesting it was part of a well-orchestrated plan and not a spontaneous act. He said the arrest followed a “scripted” process, with no physical force involved, indicating possible coordination behind the scenes.

The journalist criticized how political loyalties in Pakistan often shift under pressure from institutions and self-interest. He pointed to Fawad Chaudhry as an example of a politician who changes strategies to align with the prevailing power structure.
