The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has decided to put its ongoing talks with the government on hold, reversing an earlier announcement to call them off.
In a media interaction outside Parliament House, PTI leader Barrister Gohar clarified that the party had initially entered the discussions with good intentions. PTI’s main demands were the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 riots and last November’s Islamabad protests, as well as the release of political prisoners.
However, Gohar expressed frustration over the government’s lack of progress, specifically noting that seven days had passed without any announcement regarding the formation of the judicial commission. He emphasized that this delay was a key factor in PTI’s decision to pause the talks.
