FBI Shares New Photos of Iranian Officers Linked to Levinson Case

The FBI has released new images of three Iranian intelligence officers believed to be connected to the 2007 disappearance of Robert Levinson, a retired FBI agent. Levinson vanished while on a trip to Kish Island, Iran, and was never seen again. Although the U.S. government believes he died in captivity, his body was never recovered.

The newly released photos are part of the FBI’s continued efforts to find answers and hold those responsible accountable. The three men shown in the images are senior members of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security. U.S. officials say they played key roles in the planning and cover-up of Levinson’s abduction. One of them is now serving as Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan.

This new step follows earlier posters released by the FBI naming two other Iranian officials. Altogether, five Iranian officers have now been publicly linked to Levinson’s case. The U.S. government has placed sanctions on all of them.

A reward of up to $25 million is still being offered for information leading to Levinson’s return or the discovery of his remains. The FBI is asking for the public’s help in identifying any details about these individuals.

This renewed attention shows the United States is not giving up on finding justice for Robert Levinson and his family. The case remains one of the longest unresolved disappearances involving an American citizen.
