Shadab and Rauf to Miss Pakistan’s Updated T20 Tour of Bangladesh

Pakistan’s revamped squad for the upcoming T20 series in Bangladesh will miss two key players—Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf. Both cricketers have been ruled out due to injuries, marking a setback for the team ahead of the three-match series in Dhaka scheduled from July 20 to 24.

Shadab Khan, the vice-captain and all-rounder, recently underwent shoulder surgery in the UK. He is currently in rehabilitation and will miss the tour as he recovers. Haris Rauf, Pakistan’s fast-bowling pacing threat, suffered a Grade 1 hamstring injury during a Major League Cricket match with the San Francisco Unicorns. His fitness is expected to take a few weeks, ruling him out of the Bangladesh series.

In their place, several newer players have earned chances to shine. Young pacer Salman Mirza, who impressed in the Pakistan Super League, has received a call-up. Alongside him, uncapped players like Ahmed Daniyal and Sufiyan Muqeem bring fresh energy to the squad. Salman Ali Agha will lead the team, aiming to guide the less experienced players through a challenging series.

The series is seen as a testing ground before bigger competitions ahead, including next year’s T20 World Cup. While the absence of stars such as Shadab and Haris will be deeply felt, the team hopes this opportunity helps build strength and depth in Pakistan’s T20 setup.
